Swing Brother Swing are one of the many incarnations of our own “Tamboo”, alias Sergio Tamburelli, coming via the Crazy Bus Band, the Tamboo Crazy Band, Dr. Delirio & Korg Orchestra, the Ticino Playboys, Skoppiabilly, the Rustik Boys, the Bonarda Wagon Boys, the Vampiri della Botte, Tamboo All Stars, Hot Six, Tamboo Combo, the Webs, Supersaxmachine, the Pavia Jazz Orchestra, the Tambognola Sconnection and TNT; mixing rock and swing, rythm’n’blues and country, and soul and pop with the blues and Italian music of the ‘50s in its continuous and uncontrollable desire for change.

This group sees three greats of the Pavese music scene (Sergio Tamburelli, Pietro Bonelli and Claudio Perelli) accompanied by a young, reliable and competent rythmic duo: Fabio Villaggi, a drummer from Piacenza who is always precise and full of swing and Alex Carreri, a rocky and reliable double bassist.

Jumping from one style to another, alternating fusions and exploiting the enormous versatility of the instrument, electric and acoustic, seems to be the common denominator of many contemporary jazz musicians. It is certainly the case of Pietro Bonelli, as he demonstrates in his album, Soleà.

Latin Jazz, a pinch of flamenco, small amounts of Santana, a taste of bossa nova. The bossanova atmosphere of Bianco Opaco, a track written by Ezio Salfa, seems to be the territory in which Bonelli is at his best.

A guitarist trained in jazz/fusion with a history of intense concert activity in northern Italian clubs behind him, Pietro Bonelli offers a joyous and sunny sound, rich in Latin colours and flavours.

To realize this debut work, the Milanese musician relies on the usual members of his esteemed quartet: the pianist Mario Zara, the bassist Antonio Papagno, the drummer Luigi Scuri, the percussionist Loris Stefanuto to whom he adds, in certain tracks, the excellent trumpet player Emilio Soana and the alto saxophone of the young Guido Bombardieri which stands out with its interesting sounds and phrasing.
